Financial Advisor Website Design

Custom WordPress websites for RIAs, wealth managers, fee-only planners, credit unions, and financial firms that need more than a template. Built for compliance review, client trust, and real integration with the tools your practice runs on.

Overview

What Makes a Great Financial Advisor Website

Seven things every advisor site needs. We build all of them in from day one.

Compliance-ready

Built for principal review

Every page is built knowing your principal or compliance officer will review it before it goes live. BrokerCheck link placement per FINRA Rule 2210(d)(8), compliant testimonial infrastructure per the SEC Marketing Rule, and clear disclosure placement throughout.

Mobile-first

Built for where clients actually look

Roughly 62% of prospective clients arrive on mobile. A site that squints or breaks on a phone loses the appointment before it starts. We build mobile-first, not mobile-as-an-afterthought.

Secure forms

Encrypted intake handling

Prospect intake forms and contact forms capture sensitive information. We build with encrypted transmission, secure handling protocols, and form architecture aligned with GLBA Safeguards Rule requirements.

Scheduling

Appointment booking without friction

One of the clearest indicators of a high-converting advisor site is friction-free appointment booking. We integrate Calendly and similar scheduling tools directly into page layouts so a visitor can go from your About page to booking a call in under a minute.

Client portal

Secure connectivity, cleanly integrated

Whether you're using a custodian's portal, a planning tool with a client-facing component, or a standalone secure document vault, we integrate those access points cleanly into your site architecture with the encryption and access controls regulated firms require.

Accessibility

WCAG 2.1 AA from day one

Financial services websites face rising ADA exposure. We build to WCAG 2.1 AA as the baseline: alt text, keyboard navigation, labeled forms, proper heading hierarchy, contrast ratios that pass audit.

Trust architecture

Content that earns confidence

Prospects evaluating a financial advisor are running a trust test, not a product search. We structure sites to surface credentials, fiduciary status, planning philosophy, and social proof in the sequence that converts qualified visitors into scheduled consultations.

Process

Our Financial Advisor Website Design Process

Five stages from kickoff to launch. Every one built around regulated-industry requirements.

01

Discovery and Compliance Context

Before wireframes, we understand your regulatory environment. Are you a registered investment adviser under the SEC Marketing Rule, a broker-dealer under FINRA Rule 2210, a dual registrant, or a credit union with its own compliance framework? That answer shapes how we build the site from the first page forward.

02

Sitemap and Wireframe Review

We map the site structure and get your team aligned on pages, content hierarchy, and navigation before any design work begins. This is where we build in compliance-required elements, including disclosures, BrokerCheck links, and testimonial structures, so nothing needs to be retrofitted at the end.

03

Design and Stakeholder Approval

We produce full design mockups in a staging environment. That gives your compliance officer or principal a complete view of the site before it touches a live URL, which is the workflow FINRA-supervised firms need for retail communication review.

04

Development, Integration, and QA

We build in WordPress and integrate your scheduling tools, CRM connectors, and planning software embeds. Our 75+ step QA process covers functionality, mobile rendering, accessibility, and security before anything is approved for launch.

05

Launch and Knowledge Transfer

You launch with confidence. We walk your team through managing the site within the guardrails that protect your compliance posture, including how to add approved content, manage disclosures, and submit update requests for principal review.

Integrations We Build Into Financial Advisor WordPress Sites

A financial advisor's website doesn't exist in isolation. It's one node in a larger technology stack, and we build these integrations cleanly and test them before launch.

CRM

Where relationships live

Wealthbox, Redtail. Contact sync, pipeline visibility, and SSO workflows for RIAs on Wealthbox. Structured workflow and audit trails for firms on Redtail that need standardized process documentation.

Planning & portfolio

Connecting the planning stack

eMoney Advisor, MoneyGuidePro, Orion. We connect the site experience to eMoney's client-facing portal, MoneyGuidePro access points, and Orion's portfolio reporting and client portal where applicable.

Prospect engagement

Interactive qualification tools

Nitrogen (formerly Riskalyze). Risk tolerance assessment widgets embedded as prospect engagement tools on landing pages, creating an interactive entry point that qualifies visitors before they book a call.

Scheduling & forms

Friction-free booking and intake

Calendly, Gravity Forms with encrypted handling. Meeting scheduling embedded directly into pages, and secure prospect intake with encryption in transit and at rest, aligned with GLBA Safeguards Rule requirements.

Content & payments

Compliance-approved marketing

AdvisorStream, Snappy Kraken, Stripe. Compliance-approved content and automated marketing feeds integrated into the site, plus Stripe for flat-fee financial planning engagements and retainer billing.

Archiving

Communication records, covered

Hearsay, Smarsh. For firms subject to FINRA communication archiving requirements, we help integrate site-adjacent digital communications with your archiving workflow.

Projects above the top range typically involve multi-advisor firm sites with individual team member profiles and BrokerCheck link structures across dozens of pages, deep eMoney or Orion portal integrations with SSO workflows, or multi-brand structures for practices operating under different DBAs. Everything is scoped after a free consultation because financial firm sites vary significantly in complexity.

FAQ

How much does a financial advisor website cost?

Most financial advisor and wealth management websites run $2,000 to $12,000. Solo practitioners and small RIAs with straightforward scopes tend to land at the lower end. Larger firms, group practices, or credit unions with complex integration needs or significant content libraries fall toward the upper end or above it. We scope everything after a free discovery call so you get an accurate number, not a ballpark that surprises you mid-project.

How long does it take to build a financial advisor website?

Most projects complete in 8 to 14 weeks from signed agreement to launch. The variable that most affects timeline is content readiness: compliance-reviewed copy, approved team bios, proper disclosure language, and final testimonial content with the required disclosures. Projects where content is ready at kickoff move faster than those still moving through compliance review. We provide a detailed project schedule after scoping.

Can you build a site that my broker-dealer's principal can approve before launch?

Yes. We build in a staging environment and produce a complete, navigable preview of the site before it goes live. That staging URL can be shared with your principal or compliance officer for a full review. Nothing is published to the live domain until you provide approval. We can also produce page-by-page PDFs or static exports of the content if your firm's review process requires a specific format.

Do you handle the BrokerCheck link requirement under FINRA Rule 2210?

Yes. FINRA Rule 2210(d)(8) requires a readily apparent BrokerCheck reference and hyperlink on the initial web page intended for retail investors and on any page featuring profiles of registered persons. We build these into the appropriate pages during development, not as a retrofit after compliance review. The exact placement and visibility get confirmed during QA before launch.

What happens to the website after it launches?

You have two options. You can manage WordPress updates and maintenance yourself, or move into one of our ongoing maintenance plans. For financial services firms, we strongly recommend the latter. A WordPress site that goes months without plugin or core updates becomes a security liability, and in a regulated industry, that creates both client risk and compliance exposure.
