WooCommerce Design & Maintenance for Ecommerce Brands

WooCommerce gives brands full ownership of their store, their data, and their customer relationships, but that flexibility comes with real complexity. Roughly 70% of shoppers abandon their carts before completing checkout, and mobile makes up more than 60% of ecommerce traffic while converting at about half the rate of desktop. Most WooCommerce builds aren't set up to close that gap.

Overview

Why Ecommerce Websites Underperform

Most ecommerce sites are designed to look good in a demo and underperform in production. Product pages load too slowly on mobile, checkout flows add unnecessary steps, and the connections between WooCommerce and a brand's email, shipping, and payment tools get set up loosely enough that they break during high-volume periods. The result is a store that looks finished but leaves revenue on the table every day.

Roughly 70% of shoppers abandon their carts before completing checkout, and mobile traffic converts at about half the rate of desktop. Product page load times, checkout friction, and integration failures all compound each day without someone actively managing them.

We've been building websites since 2002 and we manage 800+ WordPress sites today. That scale means we've seen nearly every failure mode a WooCommerce store can produce, from broken subscription billing to checkout pages that collapse under peak traffic. We know what it takes to build stores that hold up.

Why us

Our Commitments to Ecommerce Clients

A senior point of contact on every project

You talk to a senior practitioner from day one, not a junior account coordinator routing messages. Strategy, scope, and the hard calls come from someone who's actually built and maintained WooCommerce stores at scale.

Our Optik Method, backed by a 75+ step QA check

Every project runs through a structured process and closes with a 75+ point quality audit before launch. No store ships without it, and the checklist covers checkout, integrations, mobile performance, and payment gateway behavior, not just visual design.

We're still here six months later

After launch, you get ongoing care plans and real support whenever you need us. The same team that built your ecommerce site is still the team answering your tickets a year later.

100% focused on WordPress

We don't split attention across five platforms. Depth beats breadth, and we've seen nearly every scenario a WooCommerce store can produce, from complex subscription migrations to custom extension work to high-volume checkout tuning.

Why us

Why WooCommerce Brands Choose CyberOptik

WooCommerce depth, not generalist coverage

We work exclusively in WordPress and WooCommerce. We're not splitting attention between Shopify, Magento, and a dozen other platforms. When a WooCommerce problem comes up, we've likely already solved it on another site in our portfolio.

Integration experience beyond the plugin readme

Connecting Klaviyo, Shippo, TaxJar, and WooCommerce Subscriptions to a single store isn't complicated until it is. We've done it enough times to know where the edge cases live and how to keep them from surfacing in production.

Performance-focused builds from the start

Core Web Vitals, mobile checkout experience, and page load time on product pages are built into our process, not treated as afterthoughts. We build to pass LCP thresholds and to keep passing them as the catalog grows.

Maintenance without mystery

We manage 800+ WordPress sites today. That means we have real systems for updates, backups, and incident response. If your checkout breaks at 11pm, there's a process, and someone who knows your site.

FAQ

Do you build on WooCommerce or Shopify?

We build exclusively on WordPress and WooCommerce. We're not a multi-platform agency. If you're deciding between WooCommerce and Shopify, we're happy to walk through the tradeoffs for your specific situation during a free consultation. For brands that want full ownership of their data, their checkout, and their customer relationships, WooCommerce is almost always the better long-term choice.

Can you rebuild or migrate an existing store?

Yes. Migrations are a meaningful part of what we do, whether you're moving from Shopify, BigCommerce, Squarespace, or an older WooCommerce build that wasn't set up well. We handle the full migration including product data, customer records, order history, and existing integrations, and we run a QA audit before flipping the switch.

Do you work with subscription-based ecommerce businesses?

Yes. WooCommerce Subscriptions is part of our standard toolkit. We set up recurring billing, trial periods, upgrade and downgrade flows, and the dunning logic that handles failed payments. Subscription ecommerce has more moving parts than a standard store, and we've built enough of these to know which configurations cause problems downstream.

How do you handle WooCommerce performance at scale?

Performance on a large WooCommerce store is a different problem than performance on a five-page brochure site. We use WP Rocket for caching and asset optimization, CDN configuration, database cleanup routines, and careful extension auditing to keep query load manageable. For high-SKU catalogs, we also implement Algolia or SearchWP to keep search fast as the product count grows.

What payment gateways do you support?

We work with WooPayments, Stripe, Authorize.net, and PayPal, among others. We configure gateways to pass PCI compliance requirements and test checkout end-to-end before launch, including declined card handling and order confirmation flows.

Do you offer ongoing maintenance after launch?

Yes, and we strongly recommend it for any active ecommerce store. WooCommerce core, extensions, and payment gateways update frequently, and a missed update can break checkout or create a security exposure. Our maintenance plans cover updates, daily backups, uptime monitoring, and access to the team that built the site. See our maintenance plans page for details.

Can you integrate WooCommerce with our email, shipping, and tax tools?

Yes. We regularly integrate WooCommerce with Klaviyo, Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, Postscript, Attentive, Shippo, ShipStation, Avalara, and TaxJar, among others. We set up the connections, test the data flow, and document the configuration so your team knows how everything fits together.

Do you handle print-on-demand or digital product stores?

Yes. We build Printful-connected stores for print-on-demand brands and use Easy Digital Downloads for stores selling downloadable products, software, or digital courses. Each has its own quirks around fulfillment, licensing, and file delivery, and we've worked through them on enough projects to build clean.
