Credibility first
Prospective clients are often making a stressful decision. Design choices favor clarity, professionalism, and trust signals over flashy visual effects.
Law Firms - Web Design
Custom WordPress websites built for how prospective clients find and hire attorneys: deep practice area pages, credibility-first attorney profiles, and intake integrations that connect your site to the tools your firm already depends on.
Design principles
Legal websites carry a different weight than most small business sites. Here's how that shapes our design decisions.
Prospective clients are often making a stressful decision. Design choices favor clarity, professionalism, and trust signals over flashy visual effects.
Navigation is built around how someone searches for legal help, not around how the firm is internally organized into departments.
Some legal needs are time-sensitive. Contact and call options stay visible and accessible from every page, not buried at the bottom.
A two-attorney firm and a twenty-attorney firm need the same underlying page architecture, just scaled differently. We build for growth from the start.
Overview
Seven things every law firm site needs. We build all of them in from day one.
One page per practice area is the minimum. Most firms need sub-pages for individual case types, like divorce, child custody, and adoption as separate pages under family law, not one combined page.
Bios are consistently the second-most-visited pages on law firm websites. They need professional photography, verifiable credentials, bar memberships, and Super Lawyers or Martindale-Hubbell ratings presented in a way that reads as human, not a resume paste.
No guarantee language, accurate past-result disclaimers, appropriate "attorney advertising" disclosures, and responsible-attorney identification where required by state bar rules.
Most urgent legal searches happen on mobile. Your site needs a tap-to-call option and a short contact form accessible within two taps from any page.
Page speed affects both search rankings and conversion rates. Contact forms and intake tools that collect client information need HTTPS and secure handling as a baseline.
Clio, MyCase, Lawmatics, LawPay, and similar tools should work with your website directly, not require clients to exit to a separate platform mid-intake.
Multi-practice firms need structured navigation that helps a visitor find their specific situation quickly, without reading through services that don't apply to them.
Process
Five stages from kickoff to launch. Every one built around law firm-specific requirements.
We start by understanding your firm's practice areas, target client profiles, intake process, and competitors. We map out the page architecture before any design work begins, including which practice areas need sub-pages and which attorney bios need priority treatment.
We create wireframes for key page types, including the homepage, practice area template, attorney bio template, and contact page. We validate the structure against your conversion goals and bar ethics requirements before visual design begins.
Visual design is developed in your firm's brand direction, with a professional tone appropriate for the legal industry. We write or review content for clarity, conversion focus, and bar compliance, including making sure no guarantee language appears anywhere in client-facing copy.
We build the site in WordPress and connect your practice management software, intake CRM, and payment tools. We configure your contact forms for secure data handling and test every integration in a staging environment before launch.
Every site goes through our 75+ step QA checklist covering performance, security, mobile experience, accessibility, internal linking, and SEO fundamentals before the domain goes live.
The legal-specific tools we plug into. Every law firm site we build connects to the platforms your firm actually runs on.
Case management
Clio, MyCase, PracticePanther, Smokeball, Filevine, CosmoLex, Rocket Matter. Intake form submissions become contacts and potential matters in your case management platform automatically.
Intake & CRM
Lawmatics, Calendly, Acuity Scheduling. Automated intake workflows, consultation booking, and a visible pipeline from first contact to signed engagement.
Payments
LawPay, DocuSign. LawPay handles retainer payments and trust accounting requirements that general payment processors can't. DocuSign handles e-signatures for engagement letters.
General CRM
HubSpot, Salesforce. For multi-attorney firms with dedicated marketing operations that need broader CRM functionality than a legal-specific intake tool provides.
Accessibility & compliance
Every site we build meets WCAG 2.1 AA from day one, and every page structure is reviewed against ABA Model Rules 7.1-7.4 before launch. Law firm sites are among the most-targeted for ADA lawsuits.
Multi-attorney bios
We build a consistent attorney bio template that handles two attorneys or twenty: photo, credentials, bar admissions, practice focus, and a filterable directory for larger firms.

Good to know
Most law firm websites fall in the $2,000-$12,000 range. Boutique or solo practices with a focused set of practice areas come in at the lower end. Multi-practice firms with complex page architectures, multiple attorney bios, and several practice management or intake integrations typically land in the middle to upper range. Large multi-office firms with extensive custom requirements can run higher. We'll scope your project accurately before you commit to anything.
Bar ethics compliance is built into our process, not bolted on at the end. We don't write content that guarantees outcomes or implies specific results. Any case outcome referenced on the site includes appropriate "results may vary" or "past results do not guarantee future outcomes" language. We follow ABA Model Rules as the baseline and flag any state-specific requirements you tell us about.
Both options work. We can write practice area pages, attorney bios, and supporting content as part of the project scope, or we can work with content you provide and make sure it's structured correctly for both SEO and conversion. Most firms find a hybrid approach works well: we write the structural and SEO-optimized content, and attorneys review and add specific details that only they know.
Yes, and this is something we're deliberate about. Before any redesign, we audit your current site for existing rankings, indexed pages, and inbound link equity. We map URL redirects to preserve any authority your current pages have earned, and we carry over or improve existing on-page SEO signals during the build. Losing rankings in a redesign is avoidable when it's planned for correctly.
A boutique or focused-practice firm site typically takes 8-12 weeks from kickoff to launch. Larger multi-practice firm builds with deep integrations and full content development typically take 12-20 weeks. The timeline depends on content readiness on your side and the complexity of the integrations involved. We'll give you a project timeline during scoping.
In almost every case, yes. We regularly build integrations with Clio, MyCase, PracticePanther, Lawmatics, Smokeball, Filevine, CosmoLex, and Rocket Matter. If your firm uses a tool we haven't connected before, we'll research its API or webhook options during scoping and confirm feasibility before the project starts.
