The challenge
This immigration law firm came in with a real visibility problem. Before the campaign started in July 2024, the site was averaging 183 organic clicks a month, its core keywords were sitting at an average position of 51.9, and total impressions were hovering around 17,500 a month. In plain terms, that's page 5 territory for a market where the buyer decision happens on page 1.
The category is also unforgiving. Immigration law is high-stakes, emotionally loaded, and competitive. Prospective clients are searching in urgent moments and comparing firms in real time. If you're not on page 1, you're not in the conversation.
The strategy
The plan focused on high-intent immigration and citizenship-related keywords, the terms people actually type when they need a lawyer, not the vanity terms that inflate impressions without converting. We layered service-area targeting on top of that so the firm would show up for its metro region, not just the broad national queries.
The rest of the work was mechanical: on-page structure that Google could parse, page-by-page content depth on the practice areas that matter most, and steady technical cleanup so the site wasn't fighting itself in the rankings.
The results
| Metric | Before SEO | After SEO | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Avg monthly clicks | 183 | 670 | +266% |
| Avg monthly impressions | 17,547 | 178,892 | +919% |
| Avg search position | 51.9 | 14.5 | Improved 37 pos |
In under a year, average monthly organic clicks went from 183 to 670, a 266% increase. Average monthly impressions climbed from 17,547 to 178,892, a 919% increase. Average search position moved from 51.9 to 14.5, an improvement of 37 positions. The campaign has delivered 6,300+ total clicks so far, with a peak month above 846 clicks.
The numbers matter, but the shift under the numbers matters more. This firm went from being invisible in local search to being routinely present in the first few results for the queries that actually generate cases.
