Website Design & Digital Marketing for Nonprofits

Your mission deserves a website that works as hard as your team does. Whether you're a community foundation, a human services organization, or an advocacy group, your site is often the first place a donor, volunteer, or program participant encounters your work. It needs to convert on the first visit, not just look good.

Overview

Why Most Nonprofit Websites Underperform

Most nonprofit websites were designed to look fine at launch and nothing more. Organic search drives 44% of all nonprofit website visits, yet most sites weren't built with search in mind, and they slip into obscurity as the years pass.

Mobile traffic now makes up 53% of nonprofit site visits, but mobile donors convert at roughly 8% compared to 11% on desktop. That's not a behavior problem. It's a design and performance problem. Slow load times and donation buttons buried three scrolls down leave recurring revenue on the table.

On top of that, donors check Charity Navigator ratings, look for 990 disclosures, and want to see exactly where their money goes before they give. We've been building websites since 2002 and we manage 800+ WordPress sites today. We apply what we've learned about donor behavior, accessibility requirements, and platform integrations to every nonprofit site we build.

Why us

Our Commitments to Nonprofit Clients

A senior point of contact on every project

You talk to a senior practitioner from day one, not a junior account coordinator routing messages. Strategy, scope, and the hard calls come from someone who's actually done the work. For organizations with limited budgets and high stakes, that matters.

Our Optik Method, backed by a 75+ step QA check

Every nonprofit website project runs through a structured process and closes with a 75+ point quality audit before launch. No site ships without it. That includes accessibility checks, form testing, donation flow verification, and mobile performance review.

We're still here six months later

After launch, you get ongoing care plans and real support whenever you need us. The same team that built your nonprofit site is still the team answering your tickets a year later. No handoffs, no starting over.

100% focused on WordPress

We don't split attention across five platforms. Depth beats breadth, and we've seen nearly every scenario a WordPress site can throw at us, from complex donation integrations to multi-site builds to plugin conflicts that surface after a major update.

Why us

Why Nonprofits Choose CyberOptik

We understand mission-driven design

A nonprofit website needs to speak to donors, volunteers, service recipients, and grant funders, sometimes all on the same page. We know how to structure content so each audience finds what it needs without the site feeling cluttered or unfocused.

We build for the real donor journey

Most online donations start with a search, move through a content experience, and end at a giving form. We build every step of that path, from search visibility to donation page performance to recurring gift conversion.

We handle the integrations nonprofit teams actually use

Bloomerang, Donorbox, Classy, Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud, NeonCRM, Givebutter, Mailchimp for Nonprofits. We've worked with these platforms and we know where the friction points are.

Accessibility is built in, not bolted on

Many nonprofits serve populations that rely on assistive technology. We build to WCAG 2.1 AA standards and treat accessibility as a core design requirement, not an afterthought.

FAQ

Do you work with small nonprofits or only large organizations?

We work with nonprofits across a wide range of sizes, from small community organizations and faith-based groups to mid-sized foundations and national advocacy organizations. The scope of the project scales accordingly. A small human services nonprofit with a tight budget has different needs than a multi-program health organization, and we scope and price accordingly.

What makes a nonprofit website different from a standard business website?

Nonprofit websites serve multiple audiences at once: donors, volunteers, program participants, board members, and grant funders. Each of those audiences needs a different content experience and a different call to action. Donation flows also carry specific requirements around trust signals, recurring gift options, and financial transparency that most commercial websites don't deal with.

Can you integrate our existing donor CRM or fundraising platform?

Yes. We have experience integrating WordPress with Bloomerang, DonorPerfect, Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud, NeonCRM, Donorbox, Classy, Givebutter, Kindful, Little Green Light, and GiveLively, among others. Some platforms offer embedded forms, others have plugins or REST APIs that allow for deeper connections. We'll assess what's possible with your specific platform during discovery.

Do you build accessible websites for nonprofits?

Yes, and we treat accessibility as a core design requirement, not an optional upgrade. Many nonprofits serve populations that include people with disabilities, and those visitors deserve an accessible experience. Nonprofits that receive federal funding also have explicit accessibility obligations under Section 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. We build to WCAG 2.1 AA standards on every nonprofit project.

How do you handle Form 990 and financial transparency on nonprofit websites?

Donor trust is built, in part, by financial transparency. We help nonprofits present their 990 filings, annual reports, and financial summaries in a way that's easy to find and easy to understand. That includes dedicated transparency pages, well-structured program pages that show impact data, and clear attribution of how donations get used.

Does CyberOptik offer SEO services for nonprofits?

Yes. We offer nonprofit SEO programs ranging from $750 to $5,000 per month depending on scope. For organizations that aren't ready for an ongoing retainer, we also offer a $1,500 one-time SEO optimization package that covers technical fixes, on-page optimization, and a prioritized roadmap. See full details on our nonprofit SEO page.

How long does a nonprofit website project take?

Most nonprofit website projects run 8 to 16 weeks from kickoff to launch, depending on the size and complexity of the site. Factors that affect the timeline include the number of pages, content readiness, the complexity of integrations, and how many rounds of revision are needed. We'll give you a specific timeline estimate after the initial strategy conversation.

What does a nonprofit website cost?

Most nonprofit website projects break into three scopes:

Focused site. $2,000-$5,000. Smaller, essentials-only build.

Standard build. $5,000-$8,000. Well-built site with the integrations most nonprofits need.

Larger build. $8,000-$12,000+. Complex program structures, deeper integrations, or multilingual content.
