Local Service Ads

Get to the top of local search with the Google Guarantee badge

Local Service Ads sit above the regular search results and the Maps pack, with a Google Guarantee badge attached that builds trust before a prospect ever calls. You pay Google directly for the leads (that's how LSA works). Our management runs $100-200/mo depending on complexity and service area count.

Local Service Ads is a specific Google product, not a variation of regular PPC. It's only available in certain service categories, and Google has to verify your business before you can run it at all. For the businesses that qualify, it's often the highest-value local channel available, since it combines top placement with a trust badge most competitors don't have.

Why us

Why LSA matters for local businesses

LSA occupies a spot on the search results page that nothing else can buy. Here's what makes that spot valuable.

  • Top of the page, above everything. LSA listings appear above regular Google Ads and above the Maps pack, for the specific searches where local intent is highest.
  • The Google Guarantee badge builds trust fast. A cold prospect who's never heard of you sees a badge that says Google backs this business. That matters more in local services than almost any other kind of trust signal.
  • You pay per lead, not per click. This is the single biggest difference from regular PPC. You're not paying for someone who clicked and bounced. You're paying for a validated lead who reached out.
  • Bad leads get disputed and refunded. If Google sends you a lead that's clearly not real or not relevant, you can dispute it and get credited back. That's not how click-based advertising works.
  • It shows up where local searches actually happen: mobile. Most local service searches happen on a phone, and LSA is built for that placement.

Services

What we do

  • Eligibility check and application. We confirm your category qualifies for LSA and get your application started with Google.
  • Business verification setup. We coordinate the documents Google asks for: insurance, licensing, and background check paperwork, so the process moves as fast as it can.
  • Google Business Profile alignment. Your GBP and your LSA profile need to tell the same story. We make sure they line up before launch.
  • Budget and service area configuration. We set your weekly budget and the specific areas you want to serve, based on where your real customers are.
  • Ongoing bid management. We adjust bids as lead volume and cost data come in, instead of setting it once and walking away.
  • Lead dispute management. When Google sends you a lead that's spam, out of area, or otherwise not valid, we help you file the dispute and get it credited back.
  • Monthly report on lead cost and volume. You see what came in, what it cost, and how the account is trending.
  • Campaign optimization based on lead quality. We watch which leads actually turn into jobs, not just which ones show up, and adjust the account accordingly.

Process

How LSA actually works

LSA isn't for everyone. Google has to approve you first: background check, licensing verification, insurance, before you can run a single ad. And it's only available in specific service categories, mostly home services, legal, financial services, health and wellness, and real estate. If you're in a category Google doesn't cover for LSA, we'd steer you toward PPC or SEO instead.

Verification takes 1-3 weeks. That's Google's pace, not ours, and there's no way to rush it from our end. The Google Guarantee badge only shows up on your listing once verification is fully complete, not before.

On the billing side, leads are validated by Google before you're charged for them. If a lead comes in that's spam or clearly not a match for what you offer, that's what the dispute process is for. We handle those disputes as part of ongoing management.

Timeline & investment

How it works and what it costs

LSA setup moves at Google's pace, not ours, particularly during verification. Here's the real breakdown of the process and the cost.

How it works

  • Eligibility check. We confirm your category and business qualify before you spend any time on paperwork.
  • Verification setup, 1-3 weeks. Google's pace, not ours. We prep and submit everything they ask for.
  • Campaign goes live with the badge. The Google Guarantee badge appears once verification clears.
  • Ongoing bid and lead management. We adjust as real lead data comes in.
  • Monthly report. Lead cost, lead volume, and what we're changing next.

Investment

  • Management runs $100-200/mo. Depends on complexity and how many service areas you're covering.
  • You pay Google directly for the adspend. That's per validated lead, not through us. There's no markup or passthrough on our end.
  • Fixed monthly management fee. No hourly billing for the management work itself.
  • No long-term contract. You're not locked in past the current month.

Is this right for you?

Who LSA is (and isn't) a fit for

We'd rather turn down a bad fit than sell you the wrong thing. Here's the straight cut.

You're a fit if

  • You're a home service business (plumber, HVAC, electrician, roofer, landscaper, and similar trades)
  • You're a law firm, financial services firm, health or wellness practice, or real estate agent
  • You have proper licensing and insurance in place already
  • You can respond to leads within a few hours (Google penalizes slow responders)
  • You're already ranking okay locally but want a boost above the regular results

You probably don't need this if

  • You're in a category Google doesn't cover for LSA (retail, e-commerce, general B2B, consulting, most professional services outside law and finance)
  • You can't provide the verification documents Google requires
  • You can't respond to leads quickly, or you're expecting cheap clicks (LSA is pay-per-lead, which costs more per event but often returns better ROI)

If that's you, we'll say so on our first call. No hard sell.

FAQs

Am I eligible for LSA?

Only if you're in one of the categories Google supports for LSA, mostly home services, legal, financial services, health and wellness, and real estate. On top of that, Google runs a background check and verifies your licensing and insurance before approving you. We'll check your category and walk you through what verification requires on our first call.

What's the difference between LSA and regular Google Ads (PPC)?

Regular PPC charges you per click, whether or not that click turns into anything. LSA charges you per validated lead, and it appears above regular PPC ads on the results page with the Google Guarantee badge attached. They're different products built for different goals, and some businesses run both.

How much does the adspend actually cost?

That's set by Google, not us, and it varies by category and location since it's an auction. You pay Google directly for each validated lead. We don't mark it up or take a cut of it. Our fee is the flat $100-200/mo management charge, separate from what you pay Google.

How does the dispute process work?

If a lead comes in that's spam, out of your service area, or otherwise not a real match, you can dispute it with Google and get credited back. We handle filing those disputes as part of our ongoing management, so you're not stuck doing it yourself.

Can I combine LSA with SEO?

Yes, and a lot of our clients do. SEO builds your organic and Maps presence over time. LSA gets you a paid spot above all of that right away. They're not competing for the same budget line, they're solving different parts of the same visibility problem. Check out our SEO page for how that side works.
