Migration To WordPress
Migrate from HubSpot CMS to WordPress
Keep HubSpot for CRM and marketing, drop the CMS Hub bill. Migrations typically run 2-8 weeks and start at $3k.
HubSpot's CRM and marketing tools are genuinely good. We use them ourselves. Its CMS is a different story: priced like part of a suite, built around HubL, and married to HubSpot's own hosting. When the website side stops making sense, we move it to WordPress and leave the rest of HubSpot exactly where it is.

Why WordPress
Why WordPress after HubSpot CMS
Every migration should end with a site that's better than what you had, not just different. Here's what WordPress gives you that HubSpot CMS doesn't.
- Your CMS bill drops. HubSpot CMS Hub isn't cheap, and you don't need it for the marketing site.
- Keep HubSpot CRM. The CRM, forms, and marketing tools still plug into WordPress cleanly.
- SEO flexibility. Every technical SEO lever is available, not gated behind a plan tier.
- No HubL lock-in. Templates and modules become standard WordPress blocks your team can edit.
- Own it. No renewal, no per-page fees, no vendor locking your marketing site to their platform.
Why us
Why teams leave HubSpot CMS
Most people we talk to don't dislike HubSpot. They dislike paying CMS Hub prices for a website that a much cheaper platform could run just as well.
- CMS Hub costs stack up fast. The website piece of HubSpot is priced as part of a broader suite, and businesses often realize they're paying enterprise CMS prices for features WordPress includes for free.
- HubL templating has a learning curve. HubSpot's templating language works well if you've got a developer on staff who knows it. If you don't, every design change becomes a ticket to an agency.
- You're locked into HubSpot's hosting. There's no separating the CMS from HubSpot's infrastructure. If you want more design flexibility or a different hosting setup, your website has to come with you.
- HubDB isn't a real database replacement. HubDB works fine for simple structured content, but it's limited compared to what a proper CMS with custom post types and custom fields can do.
- Marketing teams end up waiting on developers. HubSpot's templates are flexible until they're not, and then every tweak needs technical help instead of a quick edit.
Services
What we handle in the migration
- Content and template migration. Pages built with HubL modules and templates get rebuilt in WordPress with equivalent, often better, functionality.
- HubDB to custom post types. Structured content stored in HubDB gets remodeled as WordPress custom post types with proper fields and taxonomies, not a flat export.
- URL mapping and 301 redirects. We map every HubSpot URL to its WordPress equivalent so search engines and visitors land in the right place.
- SEO preservation. Titles, meta descriptions, and any schema markup already in place move over, and we add what HubSpot's CMS didn't support.
- Design rebuild. We rebuild your site in a modern WordPress theme, matching what you have now or improving on it if you want a refresh.
- Keeping HubSpot connected. If you want to keep using HubSpot's CRM and marketing tools, we wire your new WordPress site back into HubSpot through forms, tracking, and integrations, so nothing breaks on the marketing side.
Process
How we handle HubSpot-specific gotchas
HubL modules are the main challenge. HubSpot's templating language is proprietary, so none of it exports as usable code. We review your templates and modules during the audit, then rebuild the same functionality in WordPress using a theme and, where needed, custom plugin development. It's a rebuild, not a conversion. We tell clients that upfront rather than pretending there's a shortcut.
HubDB is the second one. It's built for simple relational data, like a product list or a location directory, but it doesn't behave like a full CMS data layer. We map your HubDB tables to WordPress custom post types and custom fields so your content keeps its structure and your team can manage it the same way going forward.
The third is keeping HubSpot's marketing side wired up correctly. A lot of our HubSpot clients aren't leaving HubSpot, they're leaving HubSpot's CMS. That means forms, tracking code, and CRM syncing all need to keep working on the new WordPress site, and we test that connection before launch, not after.

Start with a free scoping call
Before we quote anything, we hop on a free 20-30 minute call. We look at your current site together, ask a few questions, and give you a real timeline and price -- not a range pulled out of the air. If we're not the right fit, we'll say so on that call. No hard sell.
Timeline & investment
What to expect
We'll give you a real number once we've actually looked at your site, not a guess. Every quote comes after a free 20-30 min call.
Timeline
- ✓Simpler HubSpot CMS sites: 3-4 weeks
- ✓Larger marketing sites with HubDB and templates: 4-6 weeks
- ✓Enterprise sites: several weeks to a few months
Investment
- ✓Migrations start at $3k. Simple brochure sites usually land here.
- ✓Larger or custom projects go up from there. We quote after we look at your site, not before.
- ✓Everything's fixed-fee. No hourly billing, no surprises.
Is this right for you?
Who WordPress migration is (and isn't) a fit for
We'd rather turn down a bad fit than sell you the wrong thing. Here's the straight cut.
You're a fit if
- ✓HubSpot CMS Hub licensing costs are out of scale with what you're actually using it for
- ✓You want to keep HubSpot for CRM and marketing automation, but stop paying for the CMS layer too
- ✓You need more design flexibility than HubSpot's templates and HubL allow
- ✓Your marketing team keeps needing developer help for changes that should be simple
- ✓You want to own your website outright instead of having it tied to HubSpot's hosting
You probably don't need this if
- ✗You're deeply wired into HubSpot workflows across sales, marketing, and CMS, and moving would break too many integrations
- ✗No one on your team is technical enough to manage a separate WordPress install
- ✗You're happy with what CMS Hub costs relative to what it's doing for you
If that's you, we'll say so on our first call. No hard sell.

FAQs
Do we have to give up HubSpot's CRM if we move the website off HubSpot CMS?
No. A lot of our HubSpot clients keep the CRM and marketing tools and just move the website itself to WordPress. We set up the integrations so forms, contacts, and tracking still flow into HubSpot. We do the same thing ourselves.
What happens to our HubL templates?
They get rebuilt, not converted, since HubL is proprietary to HubSpot. We recreate the same layouts and functionality in a WordPress theme during the build phase.
Can HubDB content actually move to WordPress?
Yes. We map your HubDB tables to WordPress custom post types and custom fields, which gives you the same structured content with more flexibility than HubDB offered.
Will leaving HubSpot CMS hurt our SEO?
Not if it's planned properly. We map every URL, set up 301 redirects, and preserve your existing metadata and schema before launch. Rankings dip when migrations get rushed, not when they're planned out.
How long will our HubSpot CMS to WordPress migration take?
Small marketing sites usually take 2 to 4 weeks. Sites leaning heavily on HubDB or custom HubL modules take longer, more like 4 to 8 weeks. We'll give you a real estimate after reviewing your current site, not a generic range.
