How we handle speed optimization gotchas

We won't quote you a flat number before looking. Most speed problems come down to 3-4 real issues (usually big images, too many plugins, or a bloated theme), not the 30 things PageSpeed yells at you about. Once we know what we're dealing with, we give you a real quote before we touch anything.

Sometimes the fix is simple: compress the images, turn on caching, clean up the code. Sometimes it's bigger. If your theme is genuinely the bottleneck, or a plugin you rely on is dragging your whole site down, we'll tell you that directly instead of quietly working around it. That's a straight scope conversation, and it happens before we start, not after we've already billed you for it.

It depends on what the audit finds, but most sites we look at have real, fixable problems. We won't know the specific numbers until we've actually tested your site, which is why we audit before we quote.

Do I need to switch hosts?

Sometimes, but not usually. If your hosting is genuinely the bottleneck, we'll tell you directly and talk through what better hosting looks like. We won't push a switch if the real problems are images, plugins, or theme bloat instead.

Will you delete plugins I'm using?

Not without talking to you first. If a plugin is dragging your site down, we'll flag it, explain what it's costing you, and talk through the tradeoff before removing or replacing anything.

What about images? Do I need to compress them all?

Usually, yes, oversized images are one of the most common root causes we find. We handle the compression and optimization as part of the fix instead of handing you a list and asking you to do it yourself.

What if speed problems come back later?

It happens, usually when new content, images, or plugins get added after the fact. If you're on one of our care plans, we're already keeping an eye on your site's health. If not, you can always come back for another round.
