Branding

Make your business instantly recognizable

If your logo was made by your cousin in Canva, or you’re about to launch a new site and your current brand doesn’t hold up next to it, it’s time for a real identity. We do logo and identity work in-house, priced $1-4k depending on scope. Not a partner referral, not a hand-off to some outside designer.

A logo is the fastest thing a stranger judges about your business, and it happens in under a second. We build the identity that backs it up: colors, type, and rules that keep everything consistent once the logo’s done.

Why us

Why your brand matters more than you think

Most people never think about branding until it's actively working against them. Here's why it's worth getting right.

  • First impressions are visual, and they're fast. Someone decides what they think of your business in under a second, before they've read a word of your site. That judgment is almost entirely visual.
  • A weak logo undermines a great website. We can build you a beautiful, fast, modern site, and if the logo in the header looks like it was thrown together in twenty minutes, visitors notice the mismatch. It drags the whole thing down.
  • Inconsistent branding reads as "small operation." Different colors on your site, business cards, social profiles, and email signature signal a lack of attention, even if your actual work is excellent.
  • Branding during a site build is cheaper than fixing it later. If we're already redesigning your site, doing the identity work alongside it costs less than redoing both separately down the road.
  • A real identity system keeps things consistent without you. Colors, type, and usage rules mean whoever's managing your social posts or slide decks doesn't have to guess what "on brand" looks like.

What's included

What you actually get

  • Discovery call. We learn your business, your positioning, and who you're actually trying to reach before any design starts.
  • Competitor and industry research. We look at what else exists in your space so your identity doesn't blend in with everyone else.
  • 2-3 real logo concept directions. Actual different concepts, not the same idea recolored three times.
  • Primary logo plus secondary and simplified versions, and a favicon. So your mark holds up at full size and shrunk down to a browser tab.
  • Light and dark (reverse) versions of every logo file. So the mark still reads clearly when it lands on a dark background, a photo, or a colored section. You shouldn't have to think about that in the moment.
  • Brand color palette with hex, RGB, and CMYK codes. So anyone printing or building anything for you gets the color right the first time.
  • Primary and secondary typography selections. Fonts chosen to match your brand, not picked at random.
  • A basic brand guidelines document. Usage rules and do/don't examples so your logo doesn't get stretched, recolored, or placed on a background that kills legibility.
  • All source files delivered. SVG, PNG, and AI files where applicable, so you own and can use everything.
  • Two rounds of revisions included. Built into the price, not billed separately.

Process

How we handle branding

Where we sit in the market

Most agencies either don't do branding at all and refer you out to a freelancer, or they charge $15-30k for a "brand identity" that comes with a 200-page book you'll never open. We do neither. Real logo and identity work, priced $1-4k depending on scope.

What each tier gets you

A basic logo package gets you the logo, its variations, a favicon, and a primary color palette. That's it, and for a lot of businesses, that's exactly what they need. A full identity system adds expanded color and typography systems and the brand guidelines document, so a non-designer on your team can keep things consistent without calling us every time.

Timelines

Basic logo work usually takes 3-4 weeks. A full identity system runs 5-6 weeks.

Standalone or paired with a website

We do branding most often for our own website clients, since a brand-new site looks better and launches stronger with a real identity behind it. But we also take branding on as a standalone project if you don't need a new site right now, just a logo and identity that actually works.

Business cards, print, and one-off collateral

Once we've done identity work, we can carry it into the pieces you actually hand out. Business cards, letterheads, envelopes, notepads, one-page sell sheets, event signage, and other print or PDF collateral. These are scoped a la carte as one-off design projects, not bundled into the identity package, so you only pay for what you actually need.

The value here is consistency: the same designers who built your logo and color system are the ones designing the piece, so the collateral reads as part of the same brand instead of something a printer stitched together. We also send print-ready files, so your local printer isn't guessing at bleed, CMYK conversions, or which logo file to use.

Extending an existing brand instead of replacing it

Not everyone needs a total rebrand. Sometimes you like your logo, you like your colors, and you just need someone who can design new pieces without breaking what's already working. We do that a lot. Send us your existing brand guidelines (or your existing logo and a couple of your recent pieces if you don't have guidelines yet), and we'll design new collateral, a new site, or new marketing pieces in the same visual language. If we spot something that isn't working, we'll flag it, but we're not going to force a rebrand on you to justify our involvement.

Timeline & investment

How it works and what it costs

Every project starts with a scoping conversation so you know exactly what you're getting before any work begins.

How it works

  • Discovery call. We learn your business, positioning, and audience first.
  • Visual research and moodboard. About a week, so concepts start from a real point of view.
  • 2-3 logo concepts presented. 1-2 weeks, real distinct directions to react to.
  • Refinement round. We narrow in on the direction you want and tighten it up.
  • Final files and guidelines delivered. 3-6 weeks total, depending on scope.

Investment

  • $1-4k depending on scope. Not a starting price that creeps up on you.
  • Basic logo package sits on the lower end. Logo, variations, favicon, and primary colors.
  • Full identity system sits on the higher end. Logo, variations, guidelines, and an expanded color and type system.
  • Fixed-fee, written scope. No billable-hours mystery.
  • Building your website too? We scope both together, and it's often more efficient that way.

Is this right for you?

Who branding is (and isn’t) a fit for

We’d rather turn down a bad fit than sell you the wrong thing. Here’s the straight cut.

You’re a fit if

  • You're launching a new business and don't have a real logo yet
  • Your current logo looks like it was made in 20 minutes on a Canva template (be real)
  • We're building your website and your current brand is holding it back
  • You want fixed-fee pricing, not "starting at $500 and see what happens"
  • You don't need a 200-page brand book, just a real, working identity system

You probably don’t need this if

  • You're a Fortune 500 rebrand (those are $50k+ multi-agency engagements, not us)
  • You want to design your own logo and just need someone to "clean it up" (that's not how logos work, and we're upfront about it)
  • You have a strong existing brand you love and it works (great, keep it)
  • You're expecting your logo alone to save a failing business (branding matters, but it's not magic)
  • You want unlimited revisions (we include 2 rounds, more is billable, and we're upfront about that)

If that’s you, we’ll say so on our first call. No hard sell.

FAQs

What's the difference between a $1k logo and a $4k identity?

The $1k end gets you a logo, its variations, a favicon, and a primary color palette. The $4k end adds a full typography system, an expanded color system, and a brand guidelines document that keeps everything consistent once we're not the ones touching it anymore. Both include real concepts and revisions, the difference is scope, not effort.

Do I own the logo when it's done?

Yes. Once the project's paid in full, the logo and all source files are yours, including SVG, PNG, and AI files where applicable. There's no ongoing license or usage fee.

How many concepts do I get to see?

2-3 real concept directions, not variations of the same idea recolored. We do that on purpose so you're actually choosing between different approaches, not splitting hairs over one direction.

What if I hate all the concepts?

That's rare once we've done a real discovery call, but it happens. If none of the initial concepts land, we talk through what's missing and go back with a revised direction. It's part of why we start with a call instead of guessing.

Can you do branding without doing my website?

Yes. We do branding most often alongside a new website build, since the site launches stronger with a real identity behind it. But it works fine as a standalone project too, if you just need the logo and identity work on its own.
